Safe as houses
Safe as Houses will make the Royal Borough a safer place to live. The programme is led by the Community Council for berkshire (CCB)and was developed drawing on the expertise and skills of the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, Thames Valley Police (TVP), Age Concern Windsor (the relevant local branch), Neighbourhood Watch and Neighbourhood Action Groups.
Providing a range of products and services including locks, bolts, security marking and distraction burglary prevention devices, Safe as Houses will benefit well over 1,000 homes directly and many more indirectly. We will be working from street to street going to every home.
Products supplied through this programme were selected and are endorsed by TVP as proven to reduce burglary.
Teams of Police Officers, PCSOs, Neighbourhood Wardens and approved volunteers will visit streets in the Royal Borough. Every householder will be offered a free security audit and a choice of property marking equipment including UV pens and SelectaDNA; a forensic burglary deterrent.
