Sunningdale gets a summer spruce-up

Sunningdale is the latest area in the Royal Borough to benefit from a summer spruce-up.

The clean-up at Sunningdale – which follows the successful clean-up at Larchfield, kicks off on Tuesday July 22 from Park Drive at 10am.

Residents will join Royal Borough community wardens, borough streetcare officers and the streetcare team, police officers, police community support officers, Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue, and local councillors to grapple with graffiti and bag up litter.

Cllr Jesse Grey, lead member for community safety, said: "We are very fortunate to live in a lovely part of the country and it is up to us all to ensure that we work together to keep our borough clean and tidy for the benefit of residents and visitors alike.

"Community clean-ups are always popular and increasingly more residents are taking part.  I would therefore encourage members of the public, young and old, to come along on the day, I am sure it will be good fun!"

"Litter can really blight an area and the council has adopted a zero-tolerance approach – we all have a responsibility to keep the local environment clean and pleasant and we can all do our bit to help throughout the year, by putting litter in the bin or taking it home."
