Grant Hing - community warden

Hello

My name is Grant and I am the Community Warden for Maidenhead Town Centre.

I joined the Community Warden team in October 2009 having previously worked in the Royal Borough's Emergency Control Room for five years so I have a reasonable understanding of the different departments within the council and how they operate.

Since becoming a Warden I have fully immersed myself in the role and have made many strong links within the community both with local residents and retailers and businesses within the town. I have also been working closely in partnership with a number of professional agencies such as Thames Valley Police, Housing Solutions (formerly Maidenhead and District Housing Association) and Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service. Working together allows a 'joined up' approach to issues and we strive to ensure that your community is a safer, cleaner and generally a nicer place for you to live and work in.

The best thing about being a Community Warden is that no day is ever the same. In my time so far I have been involved in a number of projects such as Community Clean Up sessions and Bike Security Marking schemes as well as regularly attending Youth Club sessions and patrolling alongside my Police colleagues.

I am often around Maidenhead Town Centre patrolling the streets, parks and shopping areas on foot so if you do see me out and about then please feel free to come and speak to me about any community issues you may have or even just to say hello.

You can contact me via the Community Warden office on 01628 685636 or alternatively drop me an email, grant.hing@rbwm.gov.uk
