Drug and Alcohol Action Team
Who we are
The small team (based in Maidenhead) coordinates treatment and services for substance misusers in the borough. The DAAT direct their work to meet the objectives of the National Drug Strategy 2008 to 2018 i.e.
- Protecting communities through tackling drug supply, drug-related crime and anti-social behaviour
- Preventing harm to children, young people and families affected by drug misuse
- Delivering new approaches to drug treatment and social re-integration
- Public information campaigns, communications and community engagement

The DAAT are the lead agency for the Prolific and Priority Offender (PPO) scheme and work closely with a wide range of partners including the Police, Probation Service and Primary Care Trust in an effort to reduce the harm caused by drug and alcohol misuse.

Drug & Alcohol Training
The Drug & Alcohol Action Team (DAAT) is now working with the other East Berkshire DAATs to provide a programme of drug and alcohol training for those who work or volunteer in the borough. Each course costs £60 (£30 for volunteers) including lunch.
The current programme runs until 31st March 2012 and consists of a range of courses from the basic to more specialist subjects.
