Quiz the community safety partnership

The Royal Borough's community safety partnership wants to get the views of local residents and businesses on crime and disorder and has issued an invitation to its annual public meeting on Wednesday 26 May - to be held in the Desborough Suite, Town Hall, Maidenhead from 6 to 8pm.

The meeting will review progress over the past year against the partnership's priorities and give everyone the opportunity to help establish crime and disorder priorities for the future.

Partners attending will include Thames Valley Police, Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service and NHS Berkshire East. There will be an open question and answer session and also the opportunity to talk to individual organisations on a one-to-one basis.

Cllr Colin Rayner, lead member with responsibility for community safety, said: "We know crime and anti-social behaviour are key concerns for residents and this is why we want to give residents the opportunity to meet us face to face and discuss what we are doing to tackle crime.

"With our partners including Thames Valley Police, we are determined to bring down crime and take a tough approach against perpetrators. This meeting will help the partnership determine its priorities for 2011/12 and I would urge residents and businesses to come along."

Ian Trenholm, chief executive and chair of the community safety partnership, said: "This event will be a good opportunity for residents and businesses to learn more about the positive work we have been doing over the past year and to have their say in helping to establish strategic priorities for the future."

Chief Inspector Dave Gilbert, deputy local police area commander, said: "This is another opportunity for the public to engage with us and let us know their concerns.

"With our partners, we are committed to driving down crime and holding perpetrators to account."
