Safe Place Scheme
The Safe Place Scheme has been developed through consultation with local vulnerable people and they have identified 'safe places' across the Royal Borough.
The scheme works by asking organisations to display a Safe Place sticker in their window. This identifies it as a 'safe place' where a vulnerable person can go in and receive help.
Participating organisations may be required to make a call on the person's behalf and provide help and support where needed.
By agreeing to be part of this scheme, organisations will be providing reassurance to both users and their carers, enabling individuals to be more independent.
Who is a vulnerable person?
A vulnerable person might be:
- someone with a physical and/or learning disability
- someone with dementia
- someone with a mental health illness
- someone who is old, frail or ill
- someone who is upset or in distress
